I am seeking a work exchange partnership, a room in exchange for work on a hobby farm in the Victoria, Saanich, Langford or Sooke areas; provided there is adequate BC Transit service available since I do not own a car.
Why pick me? I offer the following skills:
- I am a trained cook, and can easily manage to make meals
- I have been an organic gardener for over 25 years; I've created multiple gardens over the years: herb, vegetable, and flower gardens
- I used to have a hobby farm myself, between 2010-2013 in Cobble Hill where we raised meat rabbits (20+), goats (7), chickens - (15 roosters for meat and 15 laying hens), as well as having two dogs and three cats
- I know how to clean
- I cannot, however, chop wood for you...you're on your own there, or will need a young lad for that one!
I am a 51yr-old female who has been living in Ladysmith for over 2.5yrs and I am finding it rather limiting, especially without a vehicle to leave and find other things to do, see etc. I also have a daughter in Langford who I'd REALLY like to see more often than I get to, so would like to be closer to her.
I work from home on the computer, so I would REQUIRE Internet/WiFi services to be available, and time away from the chores to do my work - that is the chores do not take up the bulk of my time.
